Using the provided turret actor (BP_InterceptionTurret)

The provided turret actor is drag-and-drop ready:

  1. Drag the BP_InterceptionTurret actor into your scene or spawn it in code.
  2. On the turret, make sure to set the "Initial Target" actor reference variable. This is the target that the turret will try to intercept.

You can assign a target for the turret in the details panel

Alternatively, you can define a target class in the "Target Acquisition" tab. This way, the turret will automatically target any actors of the defined class within its maximum range.

That's all. When you press play, the turret should start shooting at the assigned target.

Important Notes:

  • If an interception is not possible (e.g., the target is faster than the turret's projectiles, and it's moving away from the turret), the turret will not shoot.
  • The turret blueprint forwards the "Initial Target" reference to its AC_InterceptionComponent on BeginPlay. If you wish to assign or change the target after the turret was spawned, you need to set this reference directly in the AC_InterceptionComponent which is attached to the turret using the "SetTarget" function.
